The Styx Chyx LGBTQ+ Ally Statement

Across the country and around the globe, celebrations took place throughout the month of June to honor the LGBTQ+ community! The Styx Chyx loved it, and we waved our rainbow flags in support. Even though June has now passed, we are deeply committed to being an ally, no matter what day, month, or year it is.

The Styx Chyx believe that it is only in recognizing what makes us unique that we can come together as a society that lives in the truth — a society that supports individuals in the ways that they need to be supported because they are seen, heard, and valued.

With this in mind, we wrote the following statement to codify our organization’s stance and hold ourselves accountable for promoting and celebrating LGBTQ+ diversity.

The Styx Chyx founding principles are rooted in eliminating harmful stigmas that impart unnecessary pain and suffering. We stand with the LGBTQ+ Equality Movement and defy all constructs of injustice and inequality in our society. We, as operating officers of this nonprofit organization, commit to taking action and holding ourselves accountable. We will continue to build awareness, preserve dignity, and promote empathy around taboo topics that define us as living beings. This pledge, which is part of our broader values statement, outlines the actions we will take in order to ensure The Styx Chyx is, and will actively remain, an ally to our diverse and celebrated Pride Community.

As individuals and as an organization, we pledge to use our voices to amplify the leadership of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) individuals, as well as sexual orientation human rights educators, policymakers, and activists.

1. We pledge to seek external feedback and regularly evaluate all aspects of our organization — our operations, events, and campaigns — to ensure that they are inclusive and free of harmful jargon.

2. We pledge to continually expose ourselves to new information and experiences that will challenge us, educate us, and help inform the direction of our organization and eliminate social-stigmas.

3. We will continue to expand these commitments to actionable anti-hate initiatives that truly impact our LGBTQ+ communities and center their leadership, voices, experiences, and needs, in an effort to contribute to the ultimate elimination of sexual identity discrimination and oppression.

The Styx Chyx communities are welcoming and safe spaces for all. We will not tolerate hate speech or discrimination in any form. If you witness demeaning words or behaviors in our online communities or at our events, please notify us immediately by emailing
